Sulphur Dyeing Problems and Solutions:

S.No Problems Reaons Solution/Precautions

Crease Marks Improper loading of garments / overloading of machine Do not over load the machine but keep M:L ratio as 1:12. Straighten the garments evenly before loading. Use sulpfaxil Lub 0.5 - 1.0 grams/liter.

Patchy dyeing Staring temperature too high. Rasing temperature too quickly. Addition of salt at high temperature. Adding entire dye solution at once. Start at ambient temperature and raise gradually. Add salt at 60°C.

Speckiness Improper dissolution of dyestuff. Follow procedure as given in sulfast shade card.

Poor Rubbing Fastness Improper removal of residual size, improper rinsing after dyeing and before oxidation. Hard water metal salts Ca, Mg and Fe Ensure proper desizing with effective enzyme. Give overflow rinse till water is clear. Use sulfaxil LTSN/HTS 1-2 gram/liter.

Spotting Foaming Use sulfonol SIL/NSIL 0.25 grams/liter
