Softflow Dyeing Machine cleaning and loading procedure :

New Softflow machine Boiling out procedure:

Before commencing dyeing, it is necessary to remove any dirt and dust which may have entered the machine during manufacturing the machine.

Fill the machine with water to a level of approx 100mm below the fabric loading ports. This will require manual over riding of the upper level limit switch.

Add to the bath:

  •  5 ml/liter of NaOH 38° Be.
  • 3-4 g/l Hydro Sulphite
  • 1 ml/liter of Non-ionic or Anionic detergent
  • 1 g/l Calgon T

Heat the machine to 100°C and run for 20 - 30 minutes. Drop the bath. Hot and cold rinse the machine.

To improve the cleaning effect during the boil out, load each chamber with 50 to 100 meters of fabric.

Loading the machine:

The fabric ropes for each chamber should be prepared before delivery to the machine, the pieces being correctly sewn together, and plaited down in suitable trucks. This will minimize the time required to load the machine and avoid the risk of rope entanglement.

When loading the fabric in to the machine filled with warm water (50 - 60°C) the chamber may give the appearance of being under loaded. This is a false impression as during cold rinse processed, the fabric will increase in volume.

Take care to see that the fabric is thoroughly wetted out. This can be improved by increasing the bath temperature of if necessary adding a wetting agent to the liquor, before the fabric is introduced in to the machine.

Do not over fill the machine with water. Especially when processing 100% synthetic fabrics, on machines with large circular kiers.

Do not forget that additions made during the dyeing process will also increase the liquor volume.

Although the loading will vary with the type of the article and the width of the chamber, care should be taken in machines with a rotating cage, that the amount is not less than 50% of the machines normal load. Otherwise running problems may develop due to there being insufficient fabric to drive the rotor, the material instead swimming or floating in the chamber.

Please do not forget to clean the filter cartridge every time before loading the machine with fabric.
