SPANDEX (LYCRA) BLENDED KNITS

Home >>Textile Pretreatments

Polyurthane (Spandex, Lycra), popular due to its high performance as a stretch back material, is used widely in blends with other fibers- cotton, viscose, polyester, etc- to produce high performance materials. Spandex fibers are covered with silicon oil- about 10%-15% to prevent expansion+ contraction during spinning.

In order to control the width + shrinkage of fabric and to prevent crinkles during dyeing, fabrics are fixed in greige stage at 180-190°C for a period of 30-45 second. During fixing conditions, oil is carbonized and firmly affixed to the fibers.

Fixeclean JT 200 is designed to enable the dye master to fix the fabric while emulsfying silicon oils. It also eliminates yellowing of fabric and variable shrinkage values between each lots.
