Presence of Penta-chlorophenols (PCP) & (Tetra-chlorophenols) TCP:

PCP & TCP are widely used as preservatives to prevent fungal growth in substances like sizes, thickeners, leather and pigment emulsions and aqueous finishing formulations. Though very toxic to human, they posses serious environmental hazard. PCP degrades to Dioxin on combustion. Dioxins are considered most toxic. Once applied PCP and Dioxins are not easily removed from textiles.

Legal limit for PCP and TCP is 5 mg/kg for adult wear and 0.5 mg/kg for baby wear.
