Function wise Classification of Textile Processing Machinery

Right from the time the textile item such as yarn or cloth is received from the manufacturing section, i.e., the spinning winding or weaving department, it is to be subjected to treatment by a series of machineries, according to the specific plan. Each of the machine conducts the textile one step forward towards the end product, which may be the ready-to-use yarn or the fabric. Although it would really suffice to review the latest model of each of the processing machines in order to have a proper understanding of the functions, it is deemed necessary to review the items related to various processing functions. The following gives the functional classification of the various items.

  1. Pre-preparatory Equipments:

  2. Dyeing Machinery

    • Jiggers - jumbo jiggers, hooded jiggers, JT-10 Jiggers - woven fabric open width dyeing machines.

    • Cabinet dyeing machines - hank and loose fibre dyeing machine.

    • HT/HP Cheese and Cone dyeing machines - vertical type - horizontal type

    • Jet Dyeing machines - HT/HP - woven and knit goods synthetic and its blends dyeing machine.

    • Soft Flow Dyeing machines - Hosiery material dyeing machines - atmospheric and HT/HP types.

    • Semi continuous Dyeing Machines - woven and knit goods

    • Continuous Dyeing Machines - woven and knit goods

    • Garment Dyeing Machines

  3. Print-preparatory Machineries

  4. Printing Machinery

  5. Post Printing machinery

  6. Drying and finishing machineries

  7. Machines for Physical treatment: Decatising machine, Continuous Pressing machines, Crabbing Machines, Shearing machines, Sueding machines, Shrinking machines

  8. Machines for fabric make up and packing : Make up machines

  9. Yarn Processing machineries: Hank Yarn Dyeing - Cabinets

  10. Machinery for Special Effects

  11. Machinery not falling under the above categories

    1. Quality Control - Testing Machines.

      • Physical Testing machines

      • Chemical Testing machines

These machines are being utilized to achieve the objectives as described in the respective terminology used for the particular class. Some of the machinery items are being used for functions covered by more than one classes, owing to the over lapping nature of the functions.
