How to solve the handling problem of acrylic yarn after dyeing or bleaching processes?

Home >> FAQ

After dyeing and bleaching process, the handling properties of acrylic yarn will be affected which can be eliminated by the addition of softener to restore the original handle of the acrylic yarn but some prevention should be noted:

(1) Stearic acid combines with diethylene triamine to form alkyl ethyl imidazole which use in conjunction of epichlorohydrin forming the major composition of softener ES. This kind of softener forms a linkage with the fabric so it is durable in washing. Alkaline treatment or raising the washing temperature can remove the softener ES in order to restore the original handling of acrylic yarn.

(2) Anionic softener is not recommended because this softener does not have softening effect on acrylic yarn. On the contrary, it will turn acrylic yarn harsh in handle.

(3) 0.01-0.02g/L polyacrylamide can alter acrylic yarn to harsh hand.
