Air Jet deflection Digital Printing Technology: In this technology, the ink droplets are deflected by an air stream. The system has been in commercial use for a number of years, for example, the Millken Millitron. It is most suitable for relatively low defintion ( 20-30 dpi) and high ink volume applications such as for carpet printing.

The continuous inkjet is the oldest technology. Currently the main direction of research has moved to "drop on demand' digital printing technologies.
